Wie geht man mit einem Ball um, der sich im Sand eines Bunkers eingebohrt hat?

Um diesen Schlag konstant gut auszuführen, müssen Sie verstehen, dass die Schwungebene hier anders verläuft als bei einem gewöhnlichen Bunkerschlag. Dieser verlangt, dass der Schläger durch den Sand gleitet, mit einem flachen Divot, also fast durch den Sand gleitet. Hat sich der Ball aber in den Sand eingebohrt, genügt dieser Schlag nicht mehr, da die Sole des Schlägerblattes und sich dieser nicht ausreichend in den Sand eingräbt.

Um den eingebohrten Ball aus dem Sand heraus zu bekommen, benötigen Sie eine mehr V-förmige Schwungebene. D.h. der Schläger muss in Auf- und Abschwung steiler geschwungen werden. Es gibt einige Fixpunkte, um diesen Schlag erfolgreich auszuführen:

1. Schließen Sie das Schlägerblatt etwas mehr (Bild 1)

2. Der Ball sollte in der Ansprechposition etwas hinter ihrem Schwerpunkt liegen (Bild 2)

3. 60 Prozent ihres Gewichtes sollten auf dem vorderen Fuß sein.

4. Stehen Sie viel mehr parallel zur Schwungebene als beim gewöhnlichen Bunkerschlag (bei dem der Stand offen sein sollte).

5. Konzentrieren Sie sich auf einen Punkt etwa 5-5 Zentimeter hinter dem Ball.

6. Machen Sie einen steileren Schwung mit aktiven Handgelenken und konzentrieren Sie sich dabei weiter auf dem Punkt hinter dem Ball 
(Bild 4).

Mit dem steileren Schwung und dadurch, dass sich der Schläger mehr in den Sand bohrt, wird Ihr Durchschwung behindert sein. Dies ist völlig normal. 
Versuchen Sie nicht vor dem Treffpunkt abzubremsen, sondern behalten Sie das Tempo bei. Wenn Sie bei einem Schlag zögern, beginnen die Probleme. Glauben Sie an ihren Schlag und seien Sie nicht ängstlich !

Wenn es nun geling den eingebohrten Ball aus dem Sand zu schlagen, was passiert dann ? 
Dies hängt von der Art und Weise ab, wie der Ball im Sand gesteckt ist. Gewöhnlich fliegt der Ball weniger hoch und rollt weiter. 
Daher zielen Sie besser auf den größeren Teil des Grüns und nicht unbedingt direkt auf eine schwierige Fahnenposition. In dieser Situation ist es wichtig den Ball aus dem Sand herauszubekommen und auf dem Grün zu halten!

How to cope with that plugged bunker lie!

To execute this shot consistently well you will need to understand that your swing shape needs to be different to that of a normal bunker shot. A normal bunker shot requires that you get the club sliding through the sand with not much depth on the divot, almost like skimming the sand. The ball being plugged in the sand makes this type of shot impossible the bounce on the sole of the club also does not help with this shot, as the club will not dig into the sand
To get out of this plugged lie you need to make more of a V SHAPED swing.
This means that the club must swing more steeply up and down in the backswing and downswing. There are some key factors to making this shot successful, these are the following:

1 Make the clubface more closed i.e. turn the toe end of the club in. (as pictured) picture 1 

2 Move the ball just behind the centre of your stance. (as pictured in 2)

3 Have 60% of your weight on your front foot.

4 Stand much squarer than normal to the shot (not o open as a normal bunker technique) as pictured in 3

5 Focus on a spot approximately 4-5 centimeters behind the ball.

6 Make your swing steeper with the wrists being actively involved and make sure that you keep focused on the point behind the ball. As pictured in picture 4

With the swing being much steeper and your club digging in the sand more your follow through will be restricted. This is normal but don?t stop at impact try to keep the speed in the club. When you quit on a shot then this is when you start to get problems. Be committed to your shot and do not be frightened of it!

So! When I get the ball out what will happen to it?
Due to how the ball was in the sand this will change how the ball flies. The result will be that the ball will fly a lot lower than normal and will roll a lot more. Try to aim for your result to be towards the wider part of the green and not to a very tightly positioned pin position. Your key here is to get the ball out of the bunker and to keep it on the green!
